Last week we had a doctors appointment. I asked our doc about biting as Gwyn had bitten me a few times and I wasn't to happy about it. She taught me the pull in close technique. Buying pulling her in close when she bites she will naturally release and open her mouth causing discomfort and thus no more biting all the while saying "NO BITING" in a soft but firm tone. We tried it twice and that was enough...she got it! I was impressed...little did I know what Gwyn had in store. Since last week Thursday she has REFUSED to nurse! No joke! Pushing me away, rolling away, throwing herself backwards, screaming. I've tried waiting it out but my heart can only take so much before I succumb and give her her bottle. I don't know what to do? Tonight we took a shower and lounged around skin to skin for about a half hour reading books and playing...Amy, if you're reading this I was in my bedroom! Haha!...she vaguely attempted to nurse but I think we were both scared of each other that she turned the other way and went back to playing...Is this it?? Are we done? I thought that it would be much more difficult for her...obviously I'm the one who can't handle it. I'm used to calling the shots! I had these glorious plans of slowly weaning her after she was 1 and spending afternoons pic-nic in daffodil fields lounging around in the sun...:) Instead I think that's it...on a rather rough note I might say :( Depressing!
Crazy to think it's been 20 years since we said our vows on that stormy rainy day in March. This year we had plans to get a hotel in Lynnwood and galavant around Seattle for a few days. We ended up going to Herb Niemans on our anniversary, then to Boundary Bay for lunch the next day and we finished our anniversary weekend kidless in lynden. Amy & Bri ended up coming up and spending two days with mom. Saturday we left for the dahlia tuber sale then to El Suentio Brewery for lunch, a brisk walk in the cold wind out at birch bay and then a drink @ The Mill and dinner at Nami sushi. Our anniversary was filled with love and togetherness. We are so spoiled.
