August is about to wrap up!

What do you get when you have a napping baby + a napping husband?? A blogging wife.
So I can't believe that September is next week! Where did 2010 go? I'm not ready for fall/holidays...but I'm definately ready for Gwyn's birthday! I'm going to attempt this cake with this fondant recipe.  We shall see.  I haven't quite finalized the theme yet but I'm thinking something along the festival theme with face painting and costumes :)

Gwyn and I went to the fair last week and had such a bast with our friends Dustin & Christina and there little peanut Airabella! She's so stinking adorable and Gwyn has so much fun with her.  We also made some new friends Tammy & Josh and there son Walter. What fun our three peanuts had together! Gwyn got to see some sheep, baby pigs, cows, horses, cats, and we even rode the Merry-Go-Round.  She didn't really care for it much...it may have been that it as well after her bed time by the time we got to it.  Can't wait for next year when she'll really be able to enjoy the fair.  We couldn't get daddy to go :(  He says he's "successfully avoided the fair for the last 7 years  and his ankles were bothering him pretty bad! He's feeling better know though!

Sophie's going to go live with Auntie April in the beginning of October! We couldn't be happier :) Gwyn's going to miss finding Sophie's stray hairs to eat.  We sure do have a garbage mouth on our hands.  Anything that's on the floor goes strait for her mouth.  If it's yucky she spits it out but not after successfully hiding it from mommy in her mouth.

Speaking of baby food...we're reading Super Baby Food and following it for Gwyn's diet. She's loved every recipe I've made for her so far.  Right no she's eating about 15-20oz of breast milk a day...nursing in the morning and then nursing right before she goes to bed. We're giving her a minimum of three solid feedings a day trying to get her used to BLD schdedule. She's such a happy calm baby! We couldn't have asked for a better child :) I promise to get more pics up here! You're lucky I'm even blogging :)

20th Anniversary

Crazy to think it's been 20 years since we said our vows on that stormy rainy day in March.  This year we had plans to get a hotel in Lynnwood and galavant around Seattle for a few days. We ended up going to Herb Niemans on our anniversary, then to Boundary Bay for lunch the next day and we finished our anniversary weekend kidless in lynden. Amy & Bri ended up coming up and spending two days with mom. Saturday we left for the dahlia tuber sale then to El Suentio Brewery for lunch, a brisk walk in the cold wind out at birch bay and then a drink @ The Mill and dinner at Nami sushi. Our anniversary was filled with love and togetherness. We are so spoiled.

Gestational diabetes

Two weeks ago I took the one hour glucose test and failed it so I had to go due the dreaded 3 hour fasting glucose test.  It's horribly awful. You drink 100 milligrams of sugar on a fasting stomach and then get poked times to test you blood glucose levels.  Since I was positive for GD with Gwyn I went straight to the 3 hour test with Gabby and passed!  I was feeling pretty confident that I'd pass this time and I DID hallelujah!  All my numbers came back within range. I'm still keeping a close eye on my carb/sugar intake as I know how that can pack on the pounds for both baby and me.  So far I'm up 8 pounds. I was hoping to only gain ten thus whole pregnancy and that's still my goal.  I was 10 lbs heavier than I was when I got pregnant with Gabby and I gained 20 lbs with her so I figure that it's only appropriate that I keep my total gain to ten.  MUST KEEP COUNTING CALORIES. Ugh.  I don't find it easy like other women to loose wait after baby. If ...

Down time

All my life I've kept busy. I'm a busy person. I feel more at peace when I'm busy. The one downside to the consitency that is busyness is that often random thoughts will enter my mind about projects, bills, fundraisers, events, aka..other things I could be doing with my time. As quickly as I think of the ideas its on it's way to lala land....I started keeping a journal when I was in college so that whenever one of those ideas would enter my mind I could capture it. My "to do" journal is full of these fun ideas. Right now in my life I have a whole lot of free time that I don't know what to do with and where or where could my journal be...??? I can't find it. I feel lost without it. I have all this time now and I don't know what to do with myself. Before I know it I will be so busy with the agency I wont even have time to write. So I sit here (keeping myself busy) hoping that some of those glorious thoughts will enter my mind. Once I re...
