I'm currently typing from the Skagit Valley ER. Mama was admitted for a small bowel obstruction. She was doing so good and then all of a sudden she wasn't. She's currently sleeping and I thought I'd take some time to chat about the last week +.
Last week while on vacation in FL for the All American with AMFAM Nate had a severe reaction to his second covid vaccine. He spent two days in the ER with heart issues and is making a slow recovery. What made it so difficult was that I couldn't be with him. So instead of wallowing in sorrow I took the kids, Rocky & Linda to Harry Potter world and kept my mind busy. I don't think I've really had time to process it all actually. I just know that for a moment there I thought I might loose the love of my life. I can't. He's got a cardiology appointment today and we will get a plan of care in place.
I've learned a lot about navigating the medical field, insurance, hospitals etc with all of mamas care and I feel like Nate and I will tackle this and come out for the better. We must.
The kids know what's going on with Mom and Nate but we haven't spent much time dwelling on it. Nate's been keeping the kids super busy by taking them to the spary park, boulevard to fly kites, cousin sleepovers and right now he's at birch bay clam digging with Rocky & Linda. They're making memories.
The flight back from Florida Georgia made sure everyone in the back of the plane knew that she had to poop. Yelling loudly that she needs to poop. She's such a jokester. She craves any and all attention. She recently told me that she wants her and I to go on a date...to Hawaii. Like, just Georgia and I. Hawaii adventure without the rest of the family. HA! I told her someday we will all go :)
Gabby just lots her first tooth and somehow she decided to wake up at 6:30am to see what the tooth fairy left. Unfotunately for her the tooth fairy slept in that morning and didn't get her rounds made. I woke up to Gabby crying and crying. I went to her bed and she said, "the tooth fairy never came." I asked if we could read the letter she left and it said. "Dear Tooth Fairy. I do not want money. Please leave me a scooter." Phew. Tooth fairy only gives out money. I told her to write a new letter and the tooth fairy would come the next day <3 The tooth fairy did. ha
Gwyn has been walking Gus, doing a lot of chores, hanging out with grandma and playing an emense amount of video games. When I left this morning to head to the hospital I told her that she couldn't play any vids. We shall see how it goes! Gwyn's going to go into 6th grade in the fall and she's so kind, sweet, giving, caring and a hardworker. I hope she does great navigating the politics of middle school.
We are supposed to go on our epic summer camping trip in less than 10days. The kids can't wait.
Crazy to think it's been 20 years since we said our vows on that stormy rainy day in March. This year we had plans to get a hotel in Lynnwood and galavant around Seattle for a few days. We ended up going to Herb Niemans on our anniversary, then to Boundary Bay for lunch the next day and we finished our anniversary weekend kidless in lynden. Amy & Bri ended up coming up and spending two days with mom. Saturday we left for the dahlia tuber sale then to El Suentio Brewery for lunch, a brisk walk in the cold wind out at birch bay and then a drink @ The Mill and dinner at Nami sushi. Our anniversary was filled with love and togetherness. We are so spoiled.
