We've had some trouble with little missy over the past few weeks. She doesn't want to sleep at night. This has caused her to get in trouble on more than one occasion. She loves to destroy her Harry Potter closet of a bedroom so much so that last weekend we removed her bed. Well she did poop everywhere and she smeared it all over her bed but that's another story that I'd like to forget all about. So she's been sleeping on a nest of bean bag, blankets, pillows etc and this morning she woke up with hives all over her belly/torso. I'm pretty sure it's from the carpet in her room. When I woke her up she was only in a diaper and sleeping belly down direct on the carpet. That was it no more nest sleeping. So I bought her a new bed today and got it all set up in her room. She was so upset because I put sheets on it. She had a fit. We battled. Now remember she doesn't like to sleep right now so we did our normal book reading, song singing, tuck tuck routine and I thought we had worked it out. Well about twenty minutes later I head her crying, hurt crying, I rush in there and she's removed all the sheets and has her foot stuck under the mattresss and she is hurt. :( I help get her foot unstuck and then we go round and round again about how her sheets need to stay on the bed. I grab her and hug her. I hold her. I tell her how much I love her and care for her. I lay her in her bed and tuck her in. I prepare to go back to my bed and she asks me to sing her a song. We sing Old MacDonald, Baby Baluga, Ba Ba black sheep, and twinkle twinkle and I again prepare to go back to my bed. She then sweetly asks me if I will give her some nuggles. Oh my word. This girl. She is my world and I am reminded often of how tender and TWO she is. I am her whole world and I get so busy with the baby, cleaning, work, errands etc. I miss out on these special moments. Not tonight. I held my baby girl until I could hear her breathing slow into a dreamy sleep pattern. I love this sweet girl so much and I feel so bad because I find myself pushing her to be "big". Pushing her to be independent. Pushing her to help. When I'm reminded tonight that there's nothing more that this little girl wants than to be close and nuggle her mama. I'll slow down Gabby I promise.
Crazy to think it's been 20 years since we said our vows on that stormy rainy day in March. This year we had plans to get a hotel in Lynnwood and galavant around Seattle for a few days. We ended up going to Herb Niemans on our anniversary, then to Boundary Bay for lunch the next day and we finished our anniversary weekend kidless in lynden. Amy & Bri ended up coming up and spending two days with mom. Saturday we left for the dahlia tuber sale then to El Suentio Brewery for lunch, a brisk walk in the cold wind out at birch bay and then a drink @ The Mill and dinner at Nami sushi. Our anniversary was filled with love and togetherness. We are so spoiled.
