Potty training

We're having a great winter so far.  Two nice long weeks qith snow on the gound and we had our bedroom fieeplacw installed.  On thise really chilly jights its lovely to snuggle up to!  It makes it a littlw rough trying to potty train when it's so cold out because it's nice to have the kid run around sans clothing.  Gabby's been working since October on going potty in the potty.  I think if I could be more consistent in taking her she'd be done already but alas my time is spread thin and I'm realizing more and more that I can only do so much.  Nate left this morning to spend a week working in LA.  This just so happens to be the first time I "accidentally" put Gabby to bed with underwear on.  I just forgot.  When she woke up from her nap she wa dry!  I was so happy for her and she continued to wear her panties for the rest of the day until she took a dump in them. Oops.  Anyways we are making progress every day on the potty front!

Little miss Georgia is now three months and she's found her hands. It's so cute to see her grubbing on her hands.  She's also full of smiles and LOVES her big sisters. If they're in another room and she can hear them she's twisting around to try to be closer to them.  It's quite adorable :)  She's sleeping really well.  She even slept for twelve hours the other night! Yahoo!

Gwyneth helped me make two dinners tonight.  As I was trying to decide what dinner to make I realized how crazy the week is going to be so made tomorrow's dinner as well!  Gwyn helped me make spaghetti squash spaghetti and curry lentil with rice casserole.  The spaghetti squash was exceptionally lovely and I'm looking forward to the curry casserole.

20th Anniversary

Crazy to think it's been 20 years since we said our vows on that stormy rainy day in March.  This year we had plans to get a hotel in Lynnwood and galavant around Seattle for a few days. We ended up going to Herb Niemans on our anniversary, then to Boundary Bay for lunch the next day and we finished our anniversary weekend kidless in lynden. Amy & Bri ended up coming up and spending two days with mom. Saturday we left for the dahlia tuber sale then to El Suentio Brewery for lunch, a brisk walk in the cold wind out at birch bay and then a drink @ The Mill and dinner at Nami sushi. Our anniversary was filled with love and togetherness. We are so spoiled.

Gestational diabetes

Two weeks ago I took the one hour glucose test and failed it so I had to go due the dreaded 3 hour fasting glucose test.  It's horribly awful. You drink 100 milligrams of sugar on a fasting stomach and then get poked times to test you blood glucose levels.  Since I was positive for GD with Gwyn I went straight to the 3 hour test with Gabby and passed!  I was feeling pretty confident that I'd pass this time and I DID hallelujah!  All my numbers came back within range. I'm still keeping a close eye on my carb/sugar intake as I know how that can pack on the pounds for both baby and me.  So far I'm up 8 pounds. I was hoping to only gain ten thus whole pregnancy and that's still my goal.  I was 10 lbs heavier than I was when I got pregnant with Gabby and I gained 20 lbs with her so I figure that it's only appropriate that I keep my total gain to ten.  MUST KEEP COUNTING CALORIES. Ugh.  I don't find it easy like other women to loose wait after baby. If ...

Down time

All my life I've kept busy. I'm a busy person. I feel more at peace when I'm busy. The one downside to the consitency that is busyness is that often random thoughts will enter my mind about projects, bills, fundraisers, events, aka..other things I could be doing with my time. As quickly as I think of the ideas its on it's way to lala land....I started keeping a journal when I was in college so that whenever one of those ideas would enter my mind I could capture it. My "to do" journal is full of these fun ideas. Right now in my life I have a whole lot of free time that I don't know what to do with and where or where could my journal be...??? I can't find it. I feel lost without it. I have all this time now and I don't know what to do with myself. Before I know it I will be so busy with the agency I wont even have time to write. So I sit here (keeping myself busy) hoping that some of those glorious thoughts will enter my mind. Once I re...
