This year was one of the quieter Halloween's we've had in a while. Nate is in Texas and it's pouring rain outside. This is what I was greeted with today:
That didn't stop Gwyn and I from getting dressed up and heading out. She had so much fun and it only took her seeing two houses with their lights on to say can we go to that house Momma (another one with it's lights on) Despite the rain she didn't miss a beat. We walked around for about 45 minutes. She was pretty stoked by all the candy...one lady even gave her an entire bar! She's three!! I think the most precious moment of the evening came after we went to the second to last house she says to me, "Mom, I'll share my candy with you. You want some candy Mom?" she melts my heart <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">
Gwyn is getting so big and so sweet. Tonight we were playing games with a work book and she hugs me tight and says, "I love you so much Mom. You're my best friend." Who is this CHILD??? She is such a precious gift and I am so grateful that God gave her to Nate and I.
Did I mention that she can read? Well, atleast that's what I tell her. She's got 12 letters of the alphabet down and quite a few of our picture books have a one word description under them. I ask her what the picture is, pointing to the word and she tells me. Then we work on reading each letter. She LOVES to read. She wants to read to me most nights these days.
Nate left for Texas on Sunday morning and then will be in California for two weeks after that. He's getting certified in NDT stuff...I'm not quite sure what certs he's getting. He's pretty amazing! I couldn't be prouder. He really is working hard so that we can be debt free in 15 years. We've had some really rough years and I would say that it was about 7 months ago he had a complete attitude shift. He's confident. He's strong. He's inspiring. I love this man.
