Whoa I haven't blogged in almost two months...There was a time there that I was blogging every weekend! Am I a fairweather blogger?? I think so. As much as I think about chronicling my day to day activities and jotting these ideas down, alas nothing seems to hit the blog. Here's a small recap of what you missed...
Gwyn started walking right around her birthday...so exciting and she was adorable. This slow turtle scoot across the floor. Every now and again she'd grab onto something to regain her confidence. Not the case today. She's got this walking thing down. I can see her brain mulling over running right now! She's also saying more words like, puppy, teddy, woof, meow, quack, and giving kisses. It's so sweet and endearing ~,~
After her birthday came Thanksgiving...the whole family came up and mom wanted to do it at her House. So she cooked a huge YUMMY meal and we all sat around eating and played a super fun game but I can't quite recollect the name of it. Most epic moment was teaching mom what the word shart mean!! HAHAHA After a few hours at my moms we went over to Nate's parents for some more food and games. We ate dinner and played some dice then headed home to recoup.
Thanksgiving was on a Thursday and by Friday we were heading down to be with my dad. He went into the hospital with Pneumonia. They gave him fluids and antibiotics to help with the pneumonia and his kidneys failed. After about three days in the ICU it was determined that dialysis would be the only way to draw all the liquid in his body out (since his kidneys weren't). It was that or his body would poison it's self and he'd die. The only thing is, is that my dad is a VERY sick man. We decided he has had more lives then a cat! I can't remember the number of heart attacks he's had let alone how many times he's been in the hospital. It was nice to be down there with my sisters, but also stressful with Gwyn. Since she was out of her element she was one upset baby. I didn't want her in the hospital, for obvious reasons, so she spent time with Nate in the car or at Amy's house. The doctors did the dialysis (which they thought he was too weak and wouldn't make it through) and it didn't seem to work/help. He was still very bloated and his body was under a lot of stress. Through a lot of prayer and fighting he actually made it through. The last few weeks have been challenging to say the least but at least he's awake. On another note, he just went back to the hospital yesterday with pneumonia again :/
Let's see December has flown by and Christmas is in two days. We have a jam packed weekend planned full of family, food, and fun! Tomorrow we are going to go to Yeager's for pictures with Santa. They are open until 4pm. Then we are going to the annual Leavitt family Christmas eve party...7pm at Dean and Betsy! Then Saturday is Christmas day. Going to spend that home with our little family and enjoy the lovely day together. Sunday we are going to have dinner with my mom and little brother at 5pm and that should round up our Christmas! Then on to New Years!! WAHOOO I'm going to see Stephanie! Making the long trip to Idaho alone...Should be interesting!
On another Gwyn note, we've been dealing with constipation with our little peanut for quite some time :( It's awful!! Probably one of the worst things we've had to deal with so far as parents. She HATES to poo and for good reason (stop reading now if you don't want any details...you've been warned). It's hard, dry, mean poo. We've tried several different approaches and we think we may have finally figured it out :) Praise the LORD!! Are you ready for this...it's .....DAIRY!!!!! She's been off dairy for a week now and has pooed almost every day. Before she'd have one big poo every 3-5 days. It took her little tummy about 2 days to kick the dairy thing...I gave her yogurt two days ago and she didn't poop yesterday at all and she had a hard time pooing today. NO MORE dairy for my little darlin'! I'm so happy to have figured this out!! YEAH!
Alright, I'm off to surf mommy/coupon blogs and enjoy the rest of my night. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
